Hi, I'm Jeremy
While cattle ranching may have started with my great-grandpa or maybe his Dad, somewhere around there, I didn't necessarily grow up on a ranch. But I always found it pretty nice to visit my grandpa and grandma on the ranch. I suppose this grabbed ahold of me somehow and now I am a rancher myself. My connection to food and community also sprouted while I practically grew up in a small grocery store owned and operated by my Dad. So food, community and ranching is just part of who I am.
I ranch near Divide, Colorado at the Historic Clark Ranch, as it's known to the local community, and I ranch the way nature intended. I think keeping cattle on grass their whole lives makes simple sense. Thats the way it always has been and should be.
I use an ecosystem approach to ranching and adhere to rotational grazing system that keeps the ranch sustainable for years to come, a system that keeps water clean, grass fresh and cows happy.
Here's to local and responsible food! I hope you come visit.
